ERODE: A man has been arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in Erode district. The arrested man, identified as R Kuppusamy, 27, was living near the house of the girl’s grandmother in a village in the district. The sexual assault happened on Feb 16 when the girl was going to school, said an officer at the Sathyamangalam all-women police station. The girl’s grandmother came to know about the sexual assault and informed her parents. The grandmother filed a police complaint on Tuesday. Police registered a case, conducted inquiries and arrested the man on Friday.
