Chennai: A day after an 18-year-old man was found with multiple injuries near Gummidipoondi, police arrested a 22-year-old man for the murder. The suspect was the victim’s friend.The youngster’s body was found near a burial site in Chanaputhur village in Tiruvallur district, Police said the murder followed a drunken quarrel between the two.The deceased, Ranjan, son of a daily wage labourer, had been arrested in a factory burglary case last month and was released on bail. Police said Ranjan and his friend, Kamesh, consumed alcohol near a burial ground on Thursday night. During the session, an argument broke out between them. Kamesh stabbed Ranjan repeatedly, killing him on the spot.Police arrested Kamesh and recovered the knife from him.
