Mumbai: The Manpada police in Dombivli arrested a 25-year-old man for assaulting a female receptionist in a doctor’s clinic. The video of the incident shows the accused attacking the woman with kicks and punches.The victim, Sonali Kalasar, lives in Pisavali village in Kalyan. She works as a receptionist at Dr Aniket Palande’s Shree Balchikitsalaya Clinic in Nandivali.After the video went viral on social media, MNS, UBT, and BJP workers protested and demanded the police arrest the accused. The local Manpada police registered an offence against the accused, identified as Gokul Jha. According to the complainant she went to work around 6pm on Monday. At that time, the doctor had not come to the clinic, and 4 to 5 patients were waiting for the doctor. The doctor came to the clinic at 6.35 pm. At that time, some medical representatives went to meet the doctor.Meanwhile, a woman and a man came to the clinic with their baby for a check-up. They were accompanied by Jha, who was their relative.The complainant alleged that, seeing the doctor busy with the medical representatives for a long time, the accused came in and started entering the doctor’s cabin. Kalasar said that the doctor was busy and asked him to wait for a while. He abused her and demanded that whoever was inside the cabin be removed as they wanted to see the doctor. The accused then went out for some time, came back in few minutes, and suddenly started assaulting Kalasar with kicks and punches. People in the clinic, including Jha’s relatives intervened and rescued the woman. Kalasar filed a complaint againstJha at the Manpada police station. Suhas Hemade, Assistant Commissioner of Police, said the accused had been apprehended and arrest proceduers were on.
