Bidar: After accidentally falling into the canal of Karanja dam, a father and son died near Balahalli village in Bhalki taluk of Bidar district on Monday. Truck driver Vishwanath Jamadar, 50, and his son, cleaner Amaresha Jamadar, 23, from Hallikhed (B) village are the deceased.Fire brigade personnel visited the spot. The bodies were removed from the canal.
Vishwanath and Amaresha travelled back to the town after loading their truck with cement in Bidar. Stopping near the Karanja dam canal, Amaresha went down to wash his hands and feet. He accidentally slipped and fell into the canal. On seeing his son drowning, Vishwanath immediately went to his rescue. Unfortunately, both father and son drowned in the water and died. The incident took place in the jurisdiction of Dhannur police station in Bidar district.
