Kolkata: West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee Monday sharpened her attack on BJP, claiming that a vote for the principal Opposition could expose electors in the state to curbs on personal choices, such as non-vegetarian meals, and withdrawal of welfare benefits, such as those given to poor women and girl students.

She told voters in public rallies across the state that although the apex court had mandated supplementary lists for addition to the electoral rolls, she hasn’t seen one of them even if four have reportedly been published by the poll panel. “I went to the Supreme Court to fight against this. The SC ordered them to publish the supplementary list. They are claiming that they have published four such lists. I am yet to see even one. This is a sinister gameplan of the BJP vanishing machine,” Banerjee said.

She addressed three rallies in three South Bengal locations, including Panskura in East Midnapore and Belda. Banerjee said there is a “vanishing game plan wherein voting rights are snatched, with massive deletion of voters.” She called the exercise “votebandi,” making people stand in queues.
