While the official cause of death has not been confirmed, Mumbai Police stated that her autopsy report has been “reserved.” Sources suggest that Shefali had been self-medicating with anti-ageing pills for several years, and two boxes of such medicines were found at her home.It has also been reported that Shefali consumed stale food on the day of her death and later took her usual anti-ageing medication. Doctors at Cooper Hospital, where her postmortem was conducted, suspect that she may have suffered a cardiac arrest potentially triggered by the medication, although conclusive results are awaited.
