Mysuru: Energy minister KJ George Friday directed officials to make the illumination arrangements for Mysuru Dasara 2026 more attractive, innovative and captivating than last year, while ensuring uninterrupted power supply throughout the festival.Addressing a preparatory review meeting on Dasara arrangements at Karnataka Engineers’ Association Hall in Kadakola, George said lakhs of tourists were expected to visit Mysuru during the festival and the illumination should be designed to leave a lasting impression on visitors.“Last year’s illumination was executed well. This year, it should be made more unique and appealing,” he said.George instructed Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) and KPTCL officials to take all necessary precautionary measures to prevent power disruptions during the festival. He stressed the need for continuous monitoring of the power network, particularly in areas witnessing extensive illumination and public gatherings.CESC Mysuru Circle superintending engineer Sunil Kumar briefed the minister on the illumination arrangements, artistic installations planned at major roads and junctions and the artworks proposed for the drone show.Srirangapatna MLA and CESC chairman Ramesh Bandisiddegowda, Karnataka Exhibition Authority chairman Ayub Khan, deputy commissioner and Dasara special officer Lakshmikanth Reddy, CESC managing director MS Archana, City police commissioner Seema Latkar, SP Mallikarjuna Baladandi and senior CESC and KPTCL officials attended the meeting.
