Kanpur: Vice-Chancellor Prof. Vinay Kumar Pathak on Thursday highlighted Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University’s rapid transformation into a globally competitive institution, showcasing its achievements in academics, research, technology and infrastructure while urging graduating students to combine innovation with social responsibility and nation-building.Presenting the university’s annual progress report at the opening of the 41st convocation ceremony, Prof Pathak outlined the institution’s achievements over the past year in academic, research, technical and infrastructural fields.In his convocation address, Prof Pathak told the graduating students, “When you step out of the threshold of this campus, society will not expect only a degree from you, but will test you on the touchstone of your character and your sensitivity. Remember, only that knowledge is meaningful which is useful to the person standing on the last rung of society. Just as today the children of the primary schools of our five adopted villages have mesmerized us with their talent, you too must always remain ready for the uplift of the deprived sections of society. Having reached this peak of success, never forget your roots. Always remember the sacrifices of your parents and the guidance of your teachers. Make innovation your core mantra, make sustainability your lifestyle, and work imbued with the spirit of ‘Nation First’.”
