Prayagraj: The fifth death anniversary of former Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad president Mahant Narendra Giri was observed at Shri Math Baghambari Gaddi in Allapur on Saturday, with over 1,000 seers attending the samadhi pujan.The two-day programme concluded with seers arriving from different parts of the country to pay tribute to the former mahant. Mahant Balveer Giri, along with the Panch Parmeshwar, Mahamandaleshwars and other seers, performed the samadhi pujan as per rituals.The samadhi site and math were decorated with flowers and lights. The programme began with an abhishek at the samadhi, followed by a ‘griha shanti’ and ‘Vishnu Sahasranam havan’ performed by the Panch Parmeshwar, Brahmins and Mahamandaleshwars. The rituals concluded with samadhi pujan and floral tributes.Prasad distribution for seers and devotees began at noon.
