Nagpur: The Maharashtra govt released Rs 636 crore under the MLA Local Area Development Programme (MLALAD) for 2025-26, allocating Rs 2 crore each to total 318 legislators (both houses) across the state.The fund release covered 266 MLAs and 52 MLCs, with MLAs receiving a combined Rs 532 crore and MLCs Rs 104 crore. CM Devendra Fadnavis was among the 12 Nagpur district MLAs listed as recipients. Together, the 12 Nagpur MLAs and three MLCs were allocated Rs 30 crore.Across all 11 districts of Vidarbha, the allocation totalled Rs 150 crore. Nagpur division accounted for Rs 76 crore — with Nagpur district receiving Rs 30 crore, Chandrapur Rs 14 crore, Wardha Rs 10 crore, Gondia and Bhandara Rs 8 crore each, and Gadchiroli Rs 6 crore. Cabinet minister Sudhir Mungantiwar was among the six Chandrapur MLAs who received funds. The Amravati division — comprising Amravati, Yavatmal, Akola, Washim and Buldhana — accounted for the remaining Rs 74 crore, with Amravati district receiving Rs 18 crore, Buldhana Rs 16 crore, Yavatmal and Akola Rs 14 crore each, and Washim Rs 12 crore.The funds were placed under the charge of district collectors, who also serve as member secretaries of their respective district planning committees. The GR directed collectors to distribute the funds immediately in accordance with a GR dated July 12, 2016.
