AGRA: A 70-year-old Urdu teacher at a madrassa in Muzaffarnagar district was arrested on Monday after a video surfaced, purportedly showing him sexually assaulting a 13-year-old male student inside a classroom.
According to officials, the crime happened on Sept 7, 2024, and the assault was secretly recorded on a mobile phone by another boy. The video began circulating on social media only recently.
When the family confronted the survivor, he said the teacher assaulted and threatened him to remain silent. The family filed a written complaint, following which a case was registered, and the accused teacher was arrested.
SP (Rural) Aditya Bansal said the accused was produced before a court on Monday and was sent to jail. The teacher was booked under BNS sections 140-4 (kidnapping), 351-3 (criminal intimidation), and 5/6 of Pocso Act, and action will be taken accordingly, said Bansal.
