Madhubani: The district administration has issued a stern warning to individuals and groups responsible for frequent road blockades, stating that such disruptions will no longer be tolerated and that strict legal action will be taken against those involved.District magistrate (DM) Anand Sharma, in a press statement issued on Thursday evening, said road blockades do not resolve grievances but instead cause severe inconvenience to the public and disrupt law and order. He noted that vulnerable groups—including patients, the elderly, pregnant women, schoolchildren, students heading for exams, office-goers, and daily wage workers—are often stranded for hours. In several instances, ambulances and fire engines have been unable to pass, posing serious risks to life and property. The administration is now using advanced technology, including CCTV footage, to identify those orchestrating or participating in such blockades. As per the the press statement, FIRs have already been registered against 10 identified people involved in recent incidents, and arrests have been made. Others found responsible will face stringent action. The DM urged the public to maintain peace and restraint, emphasising that blocking roads over accidents, grievances, or demands is a punishable offence. He reiterated that the administration is committed to resolving public issues, but only through peaceful and legal means.
