Ludhiana: With the Ludhiana municipal corporation (MC) organising cleanliness drives across the city, mayor Inderjit Kaur felicitated sanitation staff for the efforts being put in by them to keep the city clean.Mayor Kaur honoured the staff with appreciation certificates and motivated them to continue working with efficiency.She shared that the goal of keeping the city clean could not be achieved without the active participation of the public. While the sanitation staff of the civic body is putting in their efforts, the public should also step forward and support the authorities in keeping the city clean.The residents have been appealed to stop dumping waste in open spaces/vacant plots. The waste should be handed over to the garbage collectors, or it should be dumped at the designated sites of the civic body, she emphasised.The mayor also stated that different initiatives are also being taken for the welfare of employees.
