Ludhiana: The Ludhiana police conducted a massive cordon and search operation (CASO) across several sensitive localities in Ludhiana city. The operation was carried out as a primary component of the ongoing “Yudh Nashian Virudh” (War Against Drugs) campaign launched by the Punjab government. This strategic search operation focused on a cluster of four municipal wards, specifically targeting high-interest areas including: Himmat Singh Nagar, Dr. Ambedkar Nagar, Manohar Nagar, and Jawahar Nagar.The operation was executed by a specialised task force of 200 police personnel. The operation was led by the DCP Investigation with the support of 9 ADCPs/ACPs, 16 SHOs, and officers from the crime wings. To ensure the effectiveness of the sweep, the police had established multiple checkpoints at all entry and exit points of the targeted wards to prevent any movement of contraband during the operation. Based on specific intelligence inputs, the police targeted residential properties and suspected hideouts from 6am to 10am.
