Srinagar, Oct 1: Lieutenant General Mohit Seth, SM, VSM on Thursday took over as the Commander of the White Knight Corps from Lieutenant General P K Mishra, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM.

Lt Gen Seth assumed command of the Corps and exhorted all ranks to maintain the highest standards of operational readiness, professional excellence and team spirit.

He also called upon the troops to continue contributing towards peace, security and stability in the region.

The Army, in a statement, said the new Corps Commander emphasised the need for sustained preparedness and collective commitment in carrying out operational responsibilities.

The White Knight Corps is responsible for military operations in the Jammu region, including areas along the Line of Control.

“Prepared for today. Ready for tomorrow,” the Army said, reiterating its commitment to serving and protecting the region.

Lt Gen P K Mishra’s tenure as White Knight Corps commander lasted 18 months, from April 1, 2025 to September 30, 2026. He took over from Lt Gen Navin Sachdeva and was succeeded by Lt Gen Mohit Seth.

Mishra’s tenure coincided with several significant security developments in the Jammu region, including heightened counter-terror operations following the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor in May 2025. The White Knight Corps also maintained a sustained focus on counter-infiltration operations along the Line of Control and counter-terror operations in the Pir Panjal and Chenab valley regions.

During his tenure, Mishra regularly reviewed operations in Doda, Kishtwar, Udhampur, Rajouri and Poonch. In September 2025, he reviewed ongoing anti-terror operations in the hilly areas of Udhampur, Doda and Kishtwar following encounters with terrorists.

In 2026, his focus also included strengthening technological and air-defence capabilities. In May, he reviewed air-defence preparedness, counter-drone capabilities and security along the LoC in Rajouri.

In one of his final operational visits as Corps Commander, Mishra visited Surankote in Poonch in September 2026 to review the security situation and focused counter-terror operations, including efforts to dominate the Pir Panjal Range.

Mishra, who was earlier Commandant of the Indian Military Training Team (IMTRAT) in Bhutan, was awarded the Uttam Yudh Seva Medal in 2026.
