Noida: A 40-year-old official attached to Lok Sabha Secretariat allegedly died by suicide at his residence in Sector 82.According to police, the deceased — a resident of Kendriya Vihar-2 Society — was posted as a joint director in the reporting branch of Lok Sabha Secretariat.A 15-page handwritten note, in which he spoke about a financial burden of nearly Rs 70 lakh and expressed remorse over his personal life, was found. Police ruled out foul play.Additional deputy commissioner of police Swatantra Singh said the deceased mentioned that he had accumulated the loans over a long period. He also wrote that he had failed to become a good husband and father and apologised to his wife for not listening to her advice.The incident came to light on Sunday evening at 7pm. Police said the man’s wife had gone to her parents’ home in Delhi two days earlier. After repeated phone calls to her husband went unanswered, she returned to Noida and reached their residence.When there was still no response despite knocking on the door several times, she sought the help of the society’s security guard. They forced open the door and found him hanging from a ceiling fan inside the house. Police were informed and the body was taken into custody before being sent for an autopsy.Police recovered the suicide note written in a personal diary. According to officers, the note did not hold any individual responsible for his death.Police said the couple’s eight-year-old son was staying with his mother in Delhi at the time of the incident.After the autopsy, the body was handed over to the family for the last rites.
