LUCKNOW: The State Level Coordinator (SLC), Oil Industry, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday said that the availability of LPG and petroleum products in the state remains normal and adequate despite the current geopolitical situation. According to an official press note issued by the SLC, a total of 4,143 LPG distributors are operating across Uttar Pradesh, catering to around 4.85 lakh consumers. The LPG distribution network is supported by 36 bottling plants, where oil marketing companies (OMCs) are maintaining an average stock of about four days, in line with operational requirements. According to Sanjay Bhandari, the SLC, an average of 10 to 11 lakh LPG bookings are received daily in the state, against which nearly seven lakh cylinders are delivered every day. The LPG supply system is functioning smoothly, and consumers have been advised to avoid unnecessary bookings. “We are requesting LPG consumers to book refills strictly as per actual requirement and only after 25 days from the last cylinder delivery, to ensure uninterrupted supply to all households,” said Bhandari. On fuel availability, the SLC said that approximately 13,168 petrol pumps are operating across Uttar Pradesh. Retail outlets currently have an average of five days of petrol and diesel stock, while oil company depots are holding an additional 16 to 17 days of reserves. This ensures a total availability of around 20 to 22 days, which is significantly higher than normal operating levels. Bhandari emphasized that supplies of petrol and diesel are continuing without disruption at all retail outlets. The public has been urged to purchase petroleum products only as per actual requirement and to maintain sensible consumption. The SLC cautioned against panic buying and hoarding, stating that there is no disruption in the supply chain, and advised people not to pay attention to rumours. Public cooperation, the note said, is essential to ensure smooth and efficient supply of essential fuels across the state.
