New Delhi: Chief minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday told residents that the supply of domestic and commercial LPG in the capital is stable, adequate and in control. There is no shortage of LPG, or any other fuel, she said, urging people not to be misled by rumours. She called for calm and restraint. On April 3, about 1.1 lakh LPG bookings were recorded across Delhi. The three oil marketing companies together delivered 1.2 lakh cylinders. This clearly indicates that the pending demand is being cleared and that the supply chain is functioning efficiently and without disruption, the chief minister said. The average delivery time for domestic LPG cylinders in Delhi is now 4.3 days, Gupta added.

To curb black marketing and hoarding, govt has established a control room (011-23379836 and 8383824659), which is acting on complaints. With credible and verified inputs, several cases were also referred to the Delhi Police control room, following which action was taken, Gupta said. Police teams conducted 22 raids across multiple locations in the city. During one such operation in North Rohini, an FIR was registered and six illegally stored LPG cylinders were seized.“Govt remains vigilant and will continue to take action against any unlawful activity. The administration is maintaining constant oversight to ensure uninterrupted LPG supply and strict enforcement against any violations,” the CM said in a statement. She urged people not to crowd gas agencies or LPG godowns. Once a cylinder is booked, it will be delivered directly to homes within the stipulated timeframe. Visiting distribution centres is unnecessary and only adds to the inconvenience, Gupta added.
