Jaipur: City police have arrested 15 people in a crackdown on LPG black marketing, registering 19 cases and seizing 461 cylinders in a sustained drive that began March 10. A special campaign under supervision of special commissioner (operations) Om Prakash is underway based on complaints of delays in LPG bookings and irregular cylinder supply, officers said Wednesday. They said all station house officers have been directed to prioritise swift verification and disposal of such complaints.
In district east, police registered six cases, arrested four persons, and seized 207 cylinders. District west reported seven cases, with nine arrests and 203 cylinders recovered. In district north, three cases led to one arrest and seizure of 31 cylinders, while district south recorded three cases, one arrest, and recovery of 20 cylinders. Officers said the drive is not limited to enforcement but extends to systemic checks. Nearly 98 LPG agencies within the commissionerate area are under continuous surveillance, with station house officers, CST and DST teams conducting regular inspections. Senior officers are monitoring the situation.
