The trailer of Love Insurance Kompany, Tamil director Vignesh Shivan’s upcoming futuristic romance entertainer, was unveiled by the makers on Sunday (April 4). Starring Pradeep Ranganathan and Krithi Shetty in the lead, the film is set to hit theatres on April 10.
The trailer takes us to a near-future Chennai. It’s 2040, and a generational match-making app called Love Insurance Kompany (LIK), headed by SJ Suryah’s character, determines the fates of all. “My app is like God,” professes Suryah. However, LIK has a critic, Vibe Vassey (Pradeep), who ironically has provided his voice to the tech. “I come from Organic World,” says Vassey as we see glimpses of a secluded haven where those addicted to social media and mobile phones can go to rehabilitate.
Everything changes when Vassey falls in love with the nomophobic beauty, Dheema (Krithi). With Suryah’s LIK striving to destroy Vassey’s love life, he must go to great lengths to convince Dheema that ‘real love’ is not something a mere app can provide.
Love Insurance Kompany also stars Seeman, Gouri Kishan, Yogi Babu, Shah Rah, and Malavika, among others. With music scored by Anirudh Ravichander, the film has cinematography by Ravi Varman and editing by Pradeep E Ragav.
Nayanthara produces the film under her Rowdy Pictures banner. SS Lalit Kumar produces and presents the film under the Seven Screen Studios banner.
