Mangaluru: Lokayukta officials conducted surprise inspections at seven gram panchayats in Dakshina Kannada as part of a suo motu case registered at the Lokayukta headquarters.The inspections were carried out at Adyar and Permude gram panchayats in Mangaluru taluk; Pudu, Mani and Golthamajalu gram panchayats in Bantwal taluk and Kuvettu and Madanthyar gram panchayats in Belthangady taluk.The teams conducted the inspections under the guidance of Mangaluru division Lokayukta SP Dinesh Kumar. The teams inspected the functioning of the gram panchayats and identified various shortcomings. A detailed report on the deficiencies found during the inspections will be submitted to the Lokayukta headquarters for further action, a release stated.
