Times News NetworkKanpur: Humid and sultry weather conditions continued to trouble residents on Friday despite a slight dip in temperature. According to weather data, the maximum temperature on Friday was recorded at 39.3 degrees Celsius, slightly lower than Thursday’s 40.1 degreesCelsius. The minimum temperature was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius. The hot and humid atmosphere left citizens exhausted throughout the day. North-eastern winds blowing at a speed of 4.5 km per hour swept across thecity, while maximum relative humidity touched 62 percent, intensifying theuneasy conditions. Many residents complained that even air coolers were adding to the humidity inside rooms.The weather department has forecast partly cloudy skies across alldistricts of the Kanpur division over the next 24 hours. Strong dusty windswith speeds ranging between 40 and 50 km per hour, along with light showersand thunderstorms in some areas, are also expected.The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the daytimetemperature in Kanpur on Saturday may hover between 38 and 40 degreesCelsius, while the night temperature is likely to remain between 26 and 28degrees Celsius.Dr. S. Sunil Pandey, weather expert at CSA University, said that due toincreased atmospheric moisture, strong winds, thunderclouds, and light rainor drizzle are likely to continue in the Kanpur division during afternoonhours in the coming days.He added that temperatures are expected to fluctuate during the week, whilehumid and sultry conditions are also likely to intensify further, causinginconvenience to residents.
