Hisar: Fatehabad police have arrested a man for allegedly murdering his live-in partner and dumping her body in a canal. The accused, identified as Iqbal Singh, is a resident of Employees Colony in Ratia.According to inspector Pushpa, station house officer at Ratia City police station, a murder case was registered on March 21 based on a complaint filed by Jagannath, father of the deceased, Rekha (35), a resident of Panihari village in Sirsa district.In his complaint, Jagannath stated that his daughter had been living in a live-in relationship with the accused for the past four years. On March 15, Iqbal Singh allegedly informed the family that Rekha died after accidentally by falling into a canal. He later identified the body.However, suspicion arose after the family noticed an injury mark on Rekha’s forehead. Following a detailed inquiry, the complainant alleged that the accused murdered his daughter on the night of March 13 and disposed of the body in the Sukhchain Minor canal to destroy evidence.Police officials said investigation in the case is underway.
