Lucknow: Light rain returned to the city on Wednesday after a cloudy morning, with several parts of Lucknow and its outskirts receiving showers.Senior scientist at Regional Meteorological Centre, Lucknow, Mohammad Danish, said, “The southwest monsoon has started withdrawing from the state. It retreated from some parts of West UP on Tuesday. However, before complete withdrawal, the monsoon is expected to cause rains in several parts of UP over the next 3-4 days due to a weather system over the Bay of Bengal.”Lucknow recorded a maximum temperature of 34.3 degrees Celsius on Wednesday and a minimum of 26 degrees. The city received 1.8 mm of rain between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm. The forecast for Thursday is partly cloudy skies becoming generally cloudy, with a few spells of rain or thundershowers in the afternoon.A similar situation is expected in some other parts of the state. The spell may bring down maximum temperatures by up to three degrees Celsius.
