Ahmedabad: Occasional light drizzle and slivers of sunshine playing peek-a-boo from behind grey clouds made for a perfect, albeit a little muggy Sunday. Families made the most of the day without sudden downpours ruining their outings. The minimum and maximum temperatures at 32.8 and 26.2 degrees celsius respectively, too were nearly at par with normal. The Met office, however, has forecast light to moderate showers in the coming four days.Across Gujarat, 106 out of 252 talukas received 1mm or more of rainfall. Mangrol in Junagadh district recorded the highest rainfall, with 90mm until 6pm on Sunday, according to State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC) data. It was followed by 77mm in Jodiya (Jamnagar), 67mm in Junagadh, 42mm in Shihor (Bhavnagar), and 41mm in Bhachau (Kutch).According to India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) forecast, a light thunderstorm with lightning along with light to moderate rains, is expected across the state for the next four days. The state has so far received 52% of the seasonal rainfall, with maximum rain recorded in Kutch and south Gujarat. The water level in the reservoirs is also above 50%, govt data shows.
