Begusarai: The court of ADJ-II Sanjay Kumar on Tuesday awarded life imprisonment to 10 people after finding them guilty in a murder case. The incident dates back to Aug 1999 in Kasha Bariyahi village under Chakia police station area of Begusarai district.Giving information about the case, Ranvijay Kumar Nirala, advocate of the complainant, said one Ramakant Yadav, a resident of the same village had accused 15 people of the murder of his father Nango Yadav in the village.“Ramakant in the FIR lodged with Chakia police station had accused one Dinesh Yadav of the village of brutally assaulting him while he was going to the field to attend nature’s call on Aug 4, 1999 morning. Later on the same day, the assailants armed with pistols and bamboo sticks, came to his house and assaulted his father, hitting him fatally on his head, killing him on the spot,” he said.After a series of hearings in various courts during the last 26 years, the court of ADJ-II after finding 10 accused guilty awarded them life imprisonment. Five of the other accused passed away during the long trial of the case. Those sentenced to life imprisonment were Dinesh Yadav, Maheshwar Yadav, Sarvan Yadav, Ram Vilas Yadav, Ramesh Yadav, Dasrath Yadav, Ranveer Yadav, Niranjan Yadav, Ram Iqbal Yadav besides one other. The judge found them guilty under Section 302, 323, 147, 148 and 149 of the IPC and awarded punishment.In another case, the court of ADJ-V, Manoj Kumar, on Monday sentenced five people to life imprisonment in a murder case which dates back to 2018 in Maida Bhavangama village under Birpur police station area. APP Gopal Sahu said the judge found Ranjit Malakar, Anita Devi, Shyam Kishor Malakar, Sri Ram and Ram Kishor guilty of the murder of one Mohan Malakar in the village.
