HYDERABAD: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday said the LGBTQ community is part of society and should not be looked down upon. Addressing an event on contemporary motherhood in Hyderabad, he said marriage is a discipline that instils dharma, while warning that the consequences of live-in relationships are visible across the world. Describing such relationships as a blind imitation of Western culture, he said modernity should be embraced but not at the cost of responsibility and India’s traditions. Bhagwat also termed Gen Z as emotional and imitative, saying they are easily influenced by what appears genuine and often do not think with a calm mind. Stressing the role of parents, he urged them to lead by example by limiting their own mobile phone use, spending more time talking to their children and strengthening family bonds. He also said society, more than govt, must take responsibility for bringing about such changes at home.
