New Delhi: Efforts will be made to curb illegal roadside parking, while modern technology will be deployed to better manage streetlights and strengthen women’s safety, lieutenant governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu said on Saturday.Speaking during an interaction at Delhi Development Authority’s Heritage Week and Rooh-e-Delhi programme at Mehrauli Archaeological Park, the LG said resident welfare associations (RWAs) would also be involved in addressing traffic management, congestion and related issues.He said RWAs would work in coordination with Delhi Traffic Police at the local level to help tackle traffic jams and streamline movement in residential areas.Responding to queries on the notification of the Delhi Master Plan 2041, Sandhu said he was meeting residents and stakeholders to gather feedback.He also said pollution remains a major challenge for Delhi. Alongside this, cleaning the Yamuna river is equally important, and continuous efforts are being made in that direction, he added.
