Lucknow: The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) will set up a modern community centre in Gomti Nagar Extension at an estimated cost of Rs 20 crore, aiming to provide residents with a comprehensive recreational and social hub.The proposed facility will be constructed near Saraswati Apartments in Sector 4.The complex will include a multipurpose hall and an adjoining lawn to host social and cultural events. Supporting infrastructure like a kitchen and dining area will also be part of the plan. For short stays and guest accommodation, the facility will have eight rooms and two suites.Planned amenities include a gymnasium, yoga centre, indoor games area, cafeteria and a swimming pool, making it a full-fledged community hub.LDA vice-chairperson Prathamesh Kumar has directed officials to initiate the process by inviting requests for proposals (RFPs), with the project to be executed under the public-private partnership model.LDA chief engineer Manvendra Singh said the three-storey centre, with basement parking, will primarily serve residents of River View Apartments and nearby areas. It will offer multiple amenities, incorporate rooftop solar panels to cut power use and feature a design that blends functionality with modern aesthetics.
