Patna: Leader of opposition in the assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Monday alleged that the law and order situation in the state has deteriorated. He claimed 8,681 children, the majority of them girls, have gone missing in the state in the past month alone. The ruling alliance decried the allegations.“Today, women, children and ordinary citizens across the entirety of Bihar feel unsafe … as the law and order situation has deteriorated so badly that 8,681 children have gone missing from the state in just the last one month, of whom 85% are girls,” Tejashwi posted on social media on Monday. He alleged the rape incidents are taking place routinely.“In Bihar, heinous rape incidents occur daily. In just a few days, more than 75 incidents of rape and gang rape took place… In every district, every day, there are cases of murder, robbery and theft. But despite this, the CM is unable to control crime,” he alleged, citing the recent murder of a NEET student after her alleged rape and the alleged molestation and attempted abduction of a minor girl who had come to Patna to take a polytechnic exam in a hotel.Further, he claimed the fear of police and law has completely vanished since Samrat happens to be the “nominated CM”, and not “elected CM”.Charging Tejashwi with issuing fake crime data to the people, BJP spokesperson Manoj Sharma described Samrat as a “committed CM”, and not “nominated CM”, adding the new govt has adopted the policy of zero tolerance towards crime. He alleged the opposition was trying to defame the govt and criticised it for adding “caste touch” to the police action against criminals.JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar questioned Tejashwi’s allegation about the missing children from the state, asking what was his source of claim.
