Gurgaon: Three parked vehicles were targeted near Elan Mall in Sector 83 on Tuesday night, with windows smashed and laptops, cash and documents stolen by the accused. Kherki Daula police have registered an FIR and launched an investigation.According to the complaint filed by Pushpender Beniwal, he parked his vehicle near the mall around 8.30pm on June 2. When Beniwal returned around 10pm, he found the rear left-side window shattered and his bag missing. The bag contained a Lenovo V14 laptop, Rs 4,500 in cash, the vehicle’s registration certificate and an identity card.While making inquiries, Beniwal learnt that two other vehicle owners had also reported similar thefts nearby.One of them, Vinay Sharma, a resident of Sector 78, found the window of his vehicle broken and his laptop bag stolen. The bag contained an MI Notebook Pro laptop, Rs 42,000 in cash, his Aadhaar card, PAN card, voter ID card, driving licence and a bank card.In another incident, Shashank Yadav, a resident of Signature Global Proxima in Sector 89, discovered that a window of his vehicle had been smashed and a bag containing an HP laptop and a pair of OnePlus earbuds had been stolen.Police said one or more unidentified suspects targeted the vehicles and fled with the stolen belongings, adding that the vehicles were not parked in a designated parking area. Based on the complaint, a case was registered on Wednesday under sections 305 (theft) and 324(4) (mischief) of BNS.Police teams visited the spot and began examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area to identify the suspects and establish the sequence of events. Investigators said efforts are underway to trace those involved and recover the stolen property.
