Kurukshetra: The Kurukshetra district police on Friday claimed to have arrested the main shooter involved in the firing incident at a trader’s residence in Ladwa.Under the guidance of Kurukshetra SP Chandra Mohan, the crime investigation agency (CIA)-1 team arrested the accused, Arjun Pandit, from Kosi Kalan in Uttar Pradesh, said the police.A police spokesperson said that on the intervening night of April 15 and 16, the police received information that unidentified assailants fired several rounds near the gate of a trader’s house in Ladwa. A police team reached the spot and inspected the area.Considering the seriousness of the case, SP Chandra Mohan constituted teams of CIA-I, CIA-II and CIA Ladwa and directed officers to ensure the swift arrest of the accused. A case was registered against unidentified persons, and the investigation was intensified.During the course of the investigation, the CIA-I team earlier arrested two accused persons – Vishal Kumar Yadav alias BD and Arunveer Singh alias Annu – on April 26 for allegedly providing the motorcycle and weapons used in the crime.The police said that on May 18, under the supervision of CIA-I in-charge inspector Prateek Kumar, a team comprising PSI Rahul, SI Sukhdev Singh, ASI Girwar, and head constable Krishna Kumar arrested the main shooter, Arjun Pandit, from Kosi Kalan in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh.Arjun Pandit was produced before the court, which remanded him to four days of police custody for further interrogation, said the police, adding that efforts were going on to identify and arrest other persons involved in the case.MSID:: 131264949 413 |
