Leh, Mar 9: Young ice hockey player Aamir Ali Nordakh from Ladakh has achieved a major milestone on the international stage after being named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the California State Ice Hockey Championship held in Los Angeles, where his team emerged victorious.
Aamir, the son of Mohd Abass Nordakh, played a pivotal role in helping his team secure the championship title. In the final match against the Mighty Ducks, he delivered an exceptional performance, impressing spectators with his agility, tactical play and goal-scoring ability.
His outstanding contribution on the ice not only ensured victory for his team but also earned him the prestigious MVP award, recognising him as the most influential player of the tournament.
Following the victory, Aamir’s team has advanced to the USA National Ice Hockey Championship, which will take place in Philadelphia, giving the young Ladakhi athlete another opportunity to showcase his talent on a bigger stage.
