Kanpur: The mutilated body of a 45-year-old labourer, identified as Hari Shankar Nishad, was found near a railway track close to Gurudev Crossing in the Rawatpur police station area on Tuesday morning.Police reached the spot after receiving information and called the family members, who identified the body.The deceased’s son, Shobhit, alleged that his father was murdered by his uncle, Ramesh, over a long-standing property dispute.According to Shobhit, on Monday evening, a village youth identified as Manish came to their house and informed the family that Ramesh had called Hari Shankar Nishad for talks aimed at resolving the property dispute.When Nishad did not return till late at night, the family contacted Manish, who told them that he had left after the meeting concluded.However, on Tuesday morning, the family received information that Nishad’s body was lying near the railway track.Rawatpur station house officer Kamlesh Rai said, “The family has alleged murder and the matter is being investigated. Prima facie, it appears that the death was caused after being hit by a train. Further legal action will be taken after the postmortem report is received.”
