Panaji: Goa govt on Friday launched new online Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for the Goa Labour Welfare Board and Goa Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, bringing company and worker records, registrations, welfare schemes and cess collection onto digital platforms.Chief minister Pramod Sawant launched the systems in the presence of Labour minister Atanasio ‘Babush’ Monserrate, who said the initiative would replace manual processes with an organised online system.“ERP is launched to keep details of companies/industrial establishments in one database. Keep employee/worker records digitally. Manage registrations and renewals. Manage welfare schemes and benefits. Make it easier for the department to find and use worker information,” Monserrate said.For the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, the ERP will streamline the assessment and collection of cess on construction activities. It will help track whether cess has been properly assessed and collected, identify gaps or irregularities and improve transparency and accountability, Monserrate said.He said the system would also help the board collect revenue due to it.“The ERP will bring the major work of both Labour Welfare Boards onto one digital platform, making administration easier, cess collection more systematic, and welfare services faster and more transparent for workers,” Monserrate said.
