KOLKATA: “Aur kuch garbar hai (there is more to it),” Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said Tuesday, reacting to Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar’s surprise resignation. “He is a healthy man. I think his health is okay. I have nothing more to say,” Banerjee said, hinting at deeper, undisclosed reasons behind his abrupt step-down Monday.Dhankhar served as Bengal governor from 2019 to 2022 before becoming Vice President. His tenure in the state was marked by constant friction with Trinamool Congress govt.TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh refrained from elaborating but acknowledged the party’s watchful stand. “The party leader has spoken on it. We have nothing to add,” he said. “It won’t be long before we get answers. Till then, we will not comment. On the issue of health, we wish him well.”
