ABOUT
Kosgi is one of the 116 municipalities that went to the polls in the Telangana Local Body Elections 2026. The municipality consists of 12 wards and is spread across 36 sq km, with an estimated total population of 27582 people. Of the total 17323 registered voters, 8748 are male and 8575 are female. Kosgi’s population comprises 14.32 percent Scheduled Caste and 0.22 percent Scheduled Tribe communities.
Apart from the 116 municipalities, seven Municipal Corporations comprising 414 wards in Telangana also went to the polls.
POLL DATES
The gazette notification for the Kosgi Municipality was issued on January 28, 2026 (Wednesday), the last date of scrutiny of nominations was January 31, 2026 (Saturday) and the last date of withdrawal of nominations was February 3, 2026 (Tuesday). This ward voted on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 and the counting of votes is happening on Friday, February 13, 2026.
PAST ELECTION RESULTS
The last Kosgi Municipality elections were held in 2020, in which the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) won 7 seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured no seats, while the Indian National Congress (INC) claimed 7 seats. The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) won no seats, and Independent candidates obtained 2 seats.
