T’puram: Parassala Police on Monday arrested a Kollam native, for allegedly smuggling MDMA from Bengaluru to Kerala.The accused is Nandu, 27, of Kulathupuzha, Kollam. Police said he was allegedly one of the key drug peddlers involved in bringing MDMA to the state and supplying it through a network of dealers.According to the police, the probe began after Vishnu, of Parassala, was arrested a week ago for allegedly possessing MDMA. During his interrogation, police reportedly learnt about Nandu and received information that he would reach a private lodge at Chackai.The police officers allegedly posed as prospective drug customers and approached Nandu at the lodge. Subsequently, he was arrested.The police said Nandu has around 10 criminal cases registered against him at various police stations in Kollam. The police are now examining his alleged links with drug suppliers in Bengaluru and other parts of Kerala.The police said detailed questioning of the accused is expected to reveal more information about the drug distribution network and help identify other persons involved in the supply chain.
