552 BLOs and 96 BLO supervisors have been appointed in the district

Madikeri: Kodagu district has achieved 98.3% progress in voters mapping, DC and district electoral officer SJ Somashekar said on Saturday.Speaking to reporters, he said of the 4,68,546 voters, 4,60,602 voters have been mapped. As a preliminary step for the special comprehensive revision in the district, the voters in the 2025 voter list have been matched with the 2002 voter list, and the available voters and their ancestry details have been aligned, he said.As part of the special intensive revision of the voters’ list, it is mandatory for all recognised political parties to appoint one booth-level agent for each polling booth, he said, adding that 552 BLOs and 96 BLO supervisors have been appointed in the district for voters’ list revision.Assistant commissioner Nitin Chakki has been appointed as voter registration officer for Madikeri constituency, and district urban development cell project director R Manjunath has been appointed as voter registration officer for Virajpet constituency. Respective taluk tahsildars have been appointed as assistant voter registration officers, he said.
