Chennai: Semiconductor process technology company KLA Corporation has decided to establish a new research & development campus in Chennai with up to Rs 3,600 crore investment, spread over the decade. It signed a MoU with Tamil Nadu govt in the presence of the chief minister. Planned on a 12-acre site, the campus will be one of KLA’s largest innovation hubs with a potential capacity of up to 1.5 million square feet. The facility is designed to support advanced research and engineering.The centre will focus on AI and software-led semiconductor innovation, said Dominic David, president of KLA India. “We expect the planned Chennai campus to extend our existing R&D capabilities, strengthen collaboration across global teams, and provide broader support to customers,” he added.
