Dubbing activity going on

New Delhi: KidZania India is bringing back its Open House initiative, giving adults an opportunity to experience its role-play-based activities without having to accompany children, while putting the focus on learning through play, exploration and real-world experiences.

The initiative allows young adults, professionals, friends and siblings to participate in the immersive activities at the facility, including more than 100 role-play experiences, subject to applicable height and weight restrictions for select activities.

While KidZania is primarily designed around children’s learning through role-play, the Open House extends the experience to adults and offers an informal setting in which participants can explore different professions, make decisions, work with others and engage in simulated real-world situations.

The concept reflects the broader role of experiential learning, where participants learn by doing rather than only through instruction. At KidZania, role-play activities allow visitors to take on different professional and social roles and engage with situations designed around everyday life and the workplace.

KidZania India introduced the Open House after receiving requests from adults who wanted to experience the facility themselves. The initiative is also positioned as an opportunity for adults to reconnect with play and participate in collaborative activities with friends, colleagues and family members.

Commenting on the upcoming edition, Tarandeep Singh Sekhon, Chief Business Officer, KidZania India, said the response to the first Open House reflected interest among adults in experiencing the role-play environment.

“The response to our first KidZania Open House reinforced something we had been hearing from adults for years – ‘When can we come and do this?’ We may grow up, but I don’t think the desire to role-play ever really goes away. Open House is about giving adults a chance to step into KidZania, rediscover that feeling and have some fun with their friends, colleagues or siblings,” he said.

Sekhon added that the experience is intended to encourage participants to try new activities and engage with one another away from their phones and everyday routines.

The Open House also brings attention to the potential of play-based and experiential environments beyond conventional classroom settings. Role-play can provide opportunities for participants to explore situations, interact with others and learn through participation, although the specific learning outcomes can vary depending on the activity and how it is facilitated.

KidZania’s activities are built around simulations of different workplaces and everyday environments, allowing participants to take on roles and engage in structured activities. For younger visitors, such experiences are positioned around exposure to professions and practical situations. The Open House extends access to the same environment to an adult audience.
