Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu on Monday convened a meeting with Director General Border Roads (DGBR) Lt-Gen Raghu Srinivasan to assess the progress of infrastructure initiatives undertaken by the BRO across the state. Chief secretary Manish Gupta was also present in the meeting.Lt-Gen. Srinivasan provided a comprehensive overview of BRO’s ongoing and upcoming infrastructure development efforts, with a focus on enhancing road connectivity in remote and strategically significant areas of Arunachal Pradesh, an official statement from CMO said.He highlighted BRO’s dual commitment to socio-economic advancement and national security by improving operational mobility for armed forces. Discussions covered the execution of critical road networks, bridges, and associated support infra aimed at meeting both civilian and defence requirements. The CM commended BRO’s relentless dedication and reiterated state govt’s full support to ensure timely and efficient implementation of these projects.Following the meet in Itanagar, the DGBR visited Ziro to review progress on the Frontier Highway project. This initiative is aimed to significantly improve all-weather connectivity along the international border, catalyse regional development, and enhance national security through improved logistical capabilities and troop mobility. tnn
