Patna: Police in Khagaria have uncovered an organised examination fraud network that allegedly attempted to manipulate the Bihar Police Radio Operator Competitive Examination. Acting on intelligence inputs, a special team led by Sadar-1 SDPO Mukul Ranjan and Cyber DSP Nishant Gaurav arrested 15 accused from Khagaria and Saharsa. During coordinated raids, police seized mobile phones, admit cards, bank cheques, ATM cards, vehicles, educational certificates and other documents.Khagaria SP Bhanu Pratap Singh said the preliminary investigation revealed that the gang had been extorting lakhs of rupees from candidates by promising guaranteed success and was also attempting to compromise the examination process.“The investigation into the entire network is underway. Cellphones, bank accounts and other electronic evidence are being analysed to identify everyone involved. If any teacher, examination centre official or any other person is found complicit, strict legal action will be taken,” Bhanu said.Investigators said one arrested solver disclosed that he had struck a deal worth Rs 8 lakh with a candidate. Police suspect the network had links extending from biometric verification staff to examination centre officials, with operational connections in Bhagalpur and Gaya. A centre superintendent from Khagaria was also arrested.The crackdown has widened across the state with arrests linked to Bluetooth-enabled cheating in Darbhanga, Bettiah and Jamui, suspicious biometric verification personnel in Muzaffarpur, and solver gang operations in Saharsa and Kishanganj.Investigators are now examining digital evidence, financial transactions and communication records to identify other members of the network and determine the full extent of the alleged examination fraud.
