Krishnagiri: A youth from Kerala was arrested for smuggling 220g of methamphetamine on a State Express Transport Corporation (SETC) bus, near Hosur in Krishnagiri district on Monday night.SIPCOT police identified the arrested as K Vinjo, 31, from Thrissur in Kerala. He was apprehended when police conducted a vehicle check at the Jujuwadi check post on the Bengaluru- Chennai- Salem National Highway.Police found the contraband when searching the luggage of passengers on board a bus which was heading from Bengaluru to Thoothukudi. Preliminary investigation revealed that the drugs were sourced in Bengaluru and being smuggled to Salem and Kerala. Police said they are investigating further to identify everyone else involved in the smuggling. Meanwhile, the arrested was remanded in judicial custody at the Salem central prison on Tuesday.
