Krishnagiri: A youth from Kerala was arrested for smuggling 150g of methamphetamine in a private luxury bus near Hosur in Krishnagiri district on Friday.Sipcot police have identified the arrested as Cleivert Xavier Antony, 23, from Edakochi near Cochin. He was apprehended when police officials were conducting intensive vehicle inspections at the Zuzuwadi check post located on the Tamil Nadu-Karnataka border.During the inspection, the team intercepted and searched a private luxury bus belonging to ‘Jihan Travels’. While inspecting the passengers’ luggage, police found around 150g of the high-potency drug in the youth’s possession. Police stated that the estimated market value of the seized contraband ranges between ₹2 lakh and ₹3 lakh.SIPCOT police have registered a case and are investigating to determine where he procured the narcotics and whether they were being smuggled from Bengaluru to Kerala.
