Hyderabad: Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy on Monday said Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s criticism of the Congress govt in Telangana over demolitions in Khammam district was purely politically motivated, with an eye on upcoming assembly elections. The Congress MP also slammed BRS working president K T Rama Rao for making baseless allegations against Rahul Gandhi. “Rahul Gandhi visited Telangana to discuss Congress’ organisational strengthening. KTR thinks everyone will loot the state like he and his father (KCR) did during the BRS govt’s nearly 10-year tenure in the state. Congress is a national party and holds training programmes, whereas BRS is only a family rule with no training for the party’s district presidents,” Kiran Kumar Reddy claimed. Kerala CM Vijayan posted on X, terming the Congress govt in Telangana as ‘bulldozer raj’ while referring to the demolitions on Bhoodan land in Velugumatla in Khammam.“CM Vijayan made the allegation without even having a proper idea of what actually happened in Khammam. CPI is an ally of Congress in Telangana. The Kerala CM should have spoken to CPI MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao, who represents the Kothagudem constituency in Khammam district, before making the allegation against the Congress govt. The Revanth Reddy-led Congress govt always stands for the poor,” Kiran Kumar Reddy said.
