Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Electoral Officer Rathan U Kelkar on Tuesday handed over the list of successful candidates in the recently concluded Assembly elections to Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at the Raj Bhavan.
The governor congratulated the chief electoral officer for the smooth conduct of the polls, according to an official statement issued by the Raj Bhavan.
In the April 9 Assembly elections, the Congress-led United Democratic Front secured a decisive victory, winning 102 seats in the 140-member House, while the Left Democratic Front won 35 seats. The BJP also won three seats.
