Srinagar, Oct 12: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti has opposed the proposed Western Foreshore Road from Hotel Mamta to Habbak via Cherry Park, alleging that the project is aimed at pursuing a “vote-bank agenda.”
In a post on X, Mehbooba Mufti wrote, The proposed Western Foreshore Road from Hotel Mamta to Habbak via Cherry Park is a deliberate attempt to mislead and push a vote-bank agenda. “
“Developed by the Tourism Department Cherry Park should be preserved as an eco park, not sacrificed for political appeasement. Why destroy Nigeen Lake’s tranquility, Kashmir needs ecological protection, not divisive politics,” the post reads.
