Varanasi: District magistrate Satyendra Kumar conducted surprise inspection and reviewed the systems in operation at SSPG Divisional Hospital, Women’s District Hospital and Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay Govt District Hospital on Saturday and issued directives to CMO, CMS and doctors present on the spot.At Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay Govt District Hospital, the DM directed staff for repair of toilet in the CT scan building, fixing continuous water leakage from the tank placed on the adjacent building and ensuring better cleanliness arrangements. He directed officials to appoint plumber and technician on outsourcing basis for hospital repairs. Additionally, he directed engineer of the rural engineering department to prepare estimates for minor work to be done and directed the pharmacist to place stretchers on hospital premises at their proper station. He interacted with an attendant who was carrying a stretcher for a patient and directed ACMO to ensure that hospital staff including ward boys, nursing aids, attendants and paramedics/rescuers, are always deployed and present on duty. Thereafter, he inspected Trauma Centre’s emergency ward, operation theatre, ECG room, store room and other facilities and assessed the arrangements. He directed CMO to clean up and sanitise the dialysis unit centre. He also took stock of progress of the under-construction medical college at Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay Govt District Hospital.Later, Kumar inspected SSPG Divisional Hospital, Kabirchaura and Govt Women’s Hospital, where he reviewed the processes of facilities provided by machines like incubator, autoclave and time totaliser.
