Shivamogga: Karnataka Lokayukta police on Thursday trapped and arrested District Fire Officer (DFO) Ashok Kumar BR while he was allegedly accepting a bribe inside his office chamber at the District Fire Station on Sagara Road, Shivamogga.According to Lokayukta SP Antony John JK, Ashok Kumar allegedly demanded Rs 1 lakh to issue a Fire Safety Clearance Certificate (CC) for Nandagokula Pre-School at Channakeshava Nagar in Shikaripura town.Acting on a complaint, the Lokayukta team laid a trap on Thursday evening and caught the officer red-handed.The accused officer was taken into custody and a case registered at the Shivamogga Lokayukta Police Station for further investigation.
